ABOUT ARCHIVES UNBOUND.

Archives Unbound answers the call within the academic community for smaller, more specialized collections of primary sources. Launched in 2009, this online resource digitizes the most popular microfilm collections from Gale and Primary Source Media and makes them available to scholars 24/7.

These subject-specific titles support multi-disciplinary research in history, political science, hard science and ethnic studies and can be purchased on a title by title basis or in any combination.

MORE THAN 200 INDIVIDUAL TITLES
The titles in Archives Unbound are organized in small highly focused collections of primary source material to allow for creating affordable custom combinations suited to the needs of your users. Individual titles in the collection range between 1,200 and 200,000 pages. Archives Unbound in total contains more than 290,000 documents and 12 million individual pages.

COVERING A BROAD RANGE OF ESSENTIAL TOPICS
The collections contained in Archive Unbound cover newly emerging areas of study as well as already prominent research subjects. Broad topic clusters include: African American Studies, American Indian studies, British history, Holocaust studies, LGBT studies, Latin American and Caribbean studies, Middle East studies, political science, religious studies, and women’s studies.

ENABLING NEW CONNECTIONS
Nearly all Archive Unbound titles are fully cross-searchable on the Gale Primary Sources platform with more collections being added every month. Features available on the Gale Primary Sources platform such as Term Cluster and Term Frequency allow users to interact with primary source material in a whole new way.
