The session will cover the key ideas in Effective Spelling, including:
• using an inquiry approach to teach spelling with meaning at the core
• a structure for a spelling learning sequence, based on the gradual-release model
• the five key spelling strategies students need to be an effective speller
• using Word Noticing Books to consolidate students’ spelling knowledge and as a resource for writing.
